MIO Alpha I Strapless Continuous Heart Rate MonitorThis is a fitness watch but it’s better promoted as a heart rate monitor. It performs as a sports watch, so whatever you expect in this sports field, it will do. It is suitable for running, boxing, rope skipping and other related intense exercises.

But the only thing I don’t like about this Alpha strapless monitor is its weak battery, it can only hold power for 20 hours, so after that you need to charge it again.

Other than that, I’m okay with the rest of the features. Some people prefer strapless heart rate monitors, but it’s not easy to keep them safe. Most of them are sleek in size so you can easily misplace them. But with strap heart rate monitor is more like a watch, actually it has functions of a watch, you can tell both time and date of the day. You don’t have to wear it all the time if it makes you feel uncomfortable, use it only when you need too, but after some time, your hand will get used to it.


  • No need for a chest strap: – At least this will give you some freedom and space to do any type of exercise of your choice. Mio Alpha heart rate monitor is worn like a normal watch, it has optical sensors at the back which continuously read and record readings about your heart. You don’t need to buy a chest strap; it will be of no use because Mio Alpha can do everything on its own.
  • Timer & Clock: – MIO Alpha is more than just a heart rate monitor, it also performs as a watch, so as you about with your workout routine, you will also be in position to time yourself; at least this will help you balance your workout time and resting time.
  • Accurate heart rate readings: – This MIO Alpha heart rate monitor has been designed to offer you with the right information about your heart. It does not matter whether you’re doing calm / rigorous exercise.
  • Soft band: – This watch has a soft and durable rubber strap which can be adjusted to any length offering the user a snug fit. Also the soft band makes it easy to wear this watch for a longer period without feeling any added weight.
  • Water resistant: – This feature just makes it a perfect sports watch for everyone; at least you don’t have to worry about running in rain or getting caught by rain while exercising. And this feature makes this product suitable for swimmers.
  • Bluetooth 4.0 Compatible: – You need a data cable to transfer data from the watch to an external device like a Smartphone. All you have to do is to turn on Bluetooth feature and automatically start transferring data from your watch to your Smartphone / application.   • 90% accurate: – I have talked about in so many ways, but I will conclude this review by repeating myself. FR70 has sensor lights at the bottom which detect any single movement. Simple arm movements will not be counted, and this reduces on the imperfection of data.
